The OLLV Foundation, a faith-based philanthropic organization rooted in Catholic values and devoted to Our Lady of La Vang, is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Director of Philanthropy to join our growing team.

About the Role

 A successful candidate will develop, cultivate new patrons and donors for the foundation. The director will initiate new relationships and create outreach programs to meet new donors that are in line with the mission and vision of the foundation’s projects. The Director of Philanthropy should have ties to the Orange County and beyond in either business or past volunteer capacity. He/She should come with a good existing network with a focus on Vietnamese American community.

 

The director of Philanthropy will work with the CEO to plan the annual fundraising Gala and the Annual Christmas Concert where diverse groups of people need to be engaged and invited to attend.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate regularly with relationship managers, marketing teams, and external partners to build trust and strengthen connections within the current donor community.

  • Gain deep insight into donor motivations and interests to cultivate long-term, mission-aligned relationships.

  • Participate in weekly meetings focused on marketing and donor engagement strategies.

  • Participate in fundraiser committee meetings to represent the Foundation and build networks across diverse communities.

  • Actively engage with partner organizations and parishes to expand outreach.

 

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree required, preferably with a focus on leadership, organizational change, or a related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree or academic background in literature or religious studies is highly desired.

 

Characteristics

  • A natural communicator with strong business acumen.

  • Bilingual in Vietnamese and English is required.

  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) or Korean is a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility in past roles.

  • Creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Understanding of Catholic Church hierarchy and complex relationship and dynamics is helpful.
